Nest for Upstox has been available since the initial days of the Indian discount broker. In fact, until 2016, Nest trader was Upstox’s only trading platform.

You can use it for equity trading, commodity trading, currency trading as well as other stock trading products.

Upstox Nest Download

Upstox Nest installation is not as complex as it may seem. All you need to do is follow the right steps. Here’s how you can download Nest for Upstox:

On your desktop, open any web browser of your choice and type www.rksv.in
From the dashboard on the top, select “Trading”
You will be directed to a page that says “trading platform”
Under the “Nest – Download now” section, click on “ Download Nest For Windows”
Once the software is downloaded, you need to install it on your computer
The software gets downloaded in the form of a zip file. Unzip it first and then double click on the “EXE” to start the installation process
Then enter your user name and your company name
Select “Complete” as the set-up type and click on “next”
Once the installation is complete, click on “finish” and you are done
You can now use Nest Trader to trade on the Upstox platform

Upstox Nest Login

Now that you have downloaded the Nest trader, you need to log in to start trading. Not sure how to do so? We’ve got your back!

Following are the steps to log in to Nest for the first time:

First, double click on the Nest launcher/Upstox Nest Launcher icon (on your desktop)
Once the launcher window opens, select “TATA.ini” under the “load form” and click on “load”
Once the installation successful message appears, click on “ok” and then click on “Launch Nest Trader”
A “Nest Trader Login” window will appear. Enter your six-digit Upstox UCC id and then click on “Go”
On the tick boxes below, only tick the “Confirm Scrips Download” option. Untick all the other boxes
Now, enter your password and complete the security process by filling in the answers to the questions prompted. Once you are done, scroll down and click on “save”
Since you are logging in for the first time, you will be asked to change your password (that is provided by the broker)
Enter your old password and then add and confirm the new password and then click on “change password”
Now, it’s time to change your transaction password. Enter the old and new passwords and click on “change password” (This is only asked for first-time logins)
The software will now start downloading exchange and scrip information (as it is running for the first time in your desktop)
Once you are logged in, a “group settings” window will appear. Select the types of stocks, groups (cash, FNO, etc.) and number of stocks/futures/options under each category as per your choice
Once you are done, click on “save group” and close the settings window
You are now all set to start trading

Upstox Nest Charges

Almost everything in today’s time comes at a cost. That’s why it’s obvious for you to wonder – Is Upstox Nest free? Or has some Upstox DP charges.

Good news, Nest Trader is absolutely free and can be easily downloaded into your desktops. However, Nest Plus (an upgraded version of Nest) includes paid packages.

How To Place Orders Using Upstox Nest?

You can both place and view orders on Upstox Nest. Here you can add futures, stocks as well as commodities as per your needs. Their respective details such as price, LTP, ATP, and quantity are updated on the software in real-time.

The following are the steps for placing an order via Nest:

Log in to Nest
Then, right-click on the scrip and click on “buy and sell order” from the drop-down menu
Alternatively, you can use F1 to bring up the “buy order entry” and F2 for the sell order entry
You may also use the toolbar on the top to do the same (the buy orders are colored blue and the sell orders are colored red)
If you intend to buy, select the “product type” from the buy window
You need to fill in your transaction password if it’s your first order
The status bar on the bottom will notify that a new order has been sent to the exchange

Viewing an order:

You can open the order book by right-clicking on the “market order” window and selecting “order book” from the drop-down menu
Alternatively, you can also do so by pressing F3
Once the order book window appears, you can see all your orders. Open orders appear on the top while the completed or canceled ones appear on the bottom

Modifying/Canceling an order:

Double click on the order you wish to modify
If it is a “buy order” a “modify buy order will appear”
Here you can change the price, quantity, and validity of your order
Any changes/modifications made by you will reflect on the order book
If you wish to cancel an open order, just select it from the “order book” and click on “cancel” on the bottom of the screen
This will move the order to the completed/canceled order table
